THEY ASSUME WE ACTED LIKE:
BUT WE REALLY ACTED LIKE:
I think when you’re doing makeup for yourself, someone else, or for a blog, it’s important to clean up the ole eyebrows. Nothing serious, just tweeze a few stray hairs, you don’t have to haul the wax pot out or make a trip to the salon, unless they are taking over the world. I don’t know what it is, but if I see a makeup tutorial or picture and the model doesn’t have her eyebrows tidied up, it takes away from it slightly and it makes the makeup application, however lovely, look messy and a bit unpolished.
How awesome is StumbleUpon? In a moment of boredom, you can click the stumble button on your browser which takes you to a website which you’ll probably like based upon your preferences. Not good for my procrastination habits maybe, but I always manage to find something I like.
With the beauty…

under eyes: Make Up For Ever HD Concealer in 325
eyeliner: MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack
eye shadow: NARS Duo in Cordura
eye brows: MAC Eye Brow Pencil in Fling
eye lashes: Lancome Hypnose Drama
cheeks: MAC Blush in Harmony
If you want to get a dark smokey-ish eye, but don’t trust your ability to blend multiple colors try using just one dark color over the entire lid. The trick to this is choosing a good color, something rich that also has a shimmer or sparkle in it, so there is dimension without using other colors. I am using the dark espresso shade in the NARS Cordura Duo. It has flecks of gold sparkles in it, which actually doesn’t show up that great on camera, but is visible in person.
First I applied MAC Blacktrack to the top lid and inner top rim. Next I applied the shadow over the lid from lash line to crease. Since you are not blending this look with other colors it’s important to blend the shadow into the skin at the crease.
I finished the look with lots of mascara and a sweep of blush in the hollow of the cheekbones.
YD- I’m not entirely fluid yet with a smoky eye, our first day of makeup was last Monday and Doogie taught us a easy way to blend which I’ve never seen before but it’s extremely simple and I’m sure I am the only one that didn’t know it lol.

under eyes: Make Up For Ever HD Concealer in 325
eyeliner: MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack
eye shadow: MAC in Electra, MAC in Sumptuous Olive
eye brows: MAC Eye Brow Pencil in Fling
eye lashes: Lancome Hypnose Drama
cheeks: MAC Blush in Harmony
For this look I lined the top lid, as well as the upper inner rim. I started the liner from about 45% of the way in from the outer corner of the eye and made small wings past the eye corners.
Next applied MAC shadow in Electra to the lid from the lashes to the crease, making sure to blend in the crease. Then I applied MAC shadow in Sumptuous Olive on top of Electra to create a metallic silvery-green color.
Last I applied a sweep of MAC Blush in Harmony in the hollow of the cheekbones.
love this…the colour is something I’ve been searching for for 388475893 years.
Gold Eyes are On Trend! I loved Creating this Gold & Brown Soft Smoky Eye look…Find out more on the trends this season with gold eyes…
At fashion week gold shadows were created to give smoky eyes a gorgeous, sun-kissed twist. Now’s the time to master the Midas touch: the good news is that this look is perfection on everyone.
Here are a few tricks for wearing shimmery gold eye shadow for a sultry evening or daytime look. Anyone can wear gold eye shadow; the trick is to select a warm colour that blends easily with your skin tone. Olive skin tones are best paired with dark metallics that border on bronze, and fair skin looks beautiful in light yellow gold.
There are several variations of the gold eye makeup look: use gold shadow to line only your lower lashes, to highlight your brow bone, or to paint your entire lid. I have added a touch of brown to the lash line & crease to add definition! You can also dust a bit of gold eye shadow on your cheekbones to give your face a goddess-inspired glow!
Have fun with gold this season…
